Every day, all over the world, prisoners - men, women and even children - face execution. The death penalty is cruel, inhuman and degrading. We are opposed to its use, everywhere in the world, for whatever reason. At the end of 2010, nearly 18 000 were on death row, facing the death sentence.
Reprieve Australia works against the death penalty. It helps provide legal and humanitarian assistance to those facing the death penalty, to advocate against the death penalty and to raise awareness about human rights. Now in its tenth year, Reprieve Australia conducts volunteer programs at home and abroad, including sending Australians to defend clients facing the death penalty.
